I am so glad someone did a story inspired by the Antartica stabbing over spoiling the end of a book. This story definitely made me thing of "All Summer in a Day" and "The Thing". Really enjoyed it!
I can never decide which is more terrifying - space station, Antartica research station, or deep sea submersible? Then I wanted Iron Lung and there was a whole new terror to worry about. Pretty sure I would stab someone for ruining the end of my book in any of these settings.
So much to love about this one, EJ. The Antarctic setting, the woo woo, the chef dreaming of green and finding a way to make it happen, the hardcore military man spinning a tale for his wife. Always a pleasure to read your work.
loved this! loved it!
great scene switching.
like a vegan version of THE THING.
Thanks EJ 🥰
Nick thank you!! The vegan Thing has me cracking up. 🖤🖤

sub wins for me, the claustrophobia! I don’t think I could even write a submarine story.
yeah, subs do win. Definitely watch Iron Lung - you’ll be fine;)
thanks! i’ve been obsessed with Antarctica lately!

Nice! Echoes of John carpenter’s The Thing. Didn’t see that one coming. I’m learning things here.
Thank you so much!
I’m not the only one who fell under Antarctica’s charm
This is a great read!
thanks!
I really loved this!
thank you!!
Loved how the story unfolded with the back and forth of developing story and aftermath.
So visual and evocative in the telling, too.
🖤
thanks so much!
I thought it was Lovecraftian, then you pulled a switcheroo. Nice!!

Thanks Garen! this story did not want to be told, i’m so relieved it came together 😂
Why are some stories like this?? For what it’s worth I couldn’t tell it was a struggle!
Jordy Verrill must have sent his cousin Alfredo a care package.
Love it EJ!
that’s a deep cut- I had to google it!
But at least they have pizza! The perfect spring story. <3

Always my pleasure.
This was so fun, I shivered. I LOVE Antarctica horror! 😍
