As someone who has a phobia of swimming in anything but a pool, this is terrifying.

Poor Aubrey took to heart “do what you love and let it kill you”.

I now feel justified about my so-called “irrational” fear of water

Oblivion without meaning. The circle of life as a straight line. Ugh. It's what drives me as a horror writer. Always asking, "Is that all there is?"

Well, then let's keep dancing...er...swimming.

When what we love is what destroys us. Love this tale.

Incredible story! A passionless, elemental death…maybe the hardest kind for humans to grasp.

From the start of this journey of yours, EJ the writer has grown and improved in ways only afforded by courage, grit, and perseverance. Another badass creation, EJ. Keep up the hard work, it’s most certainly paying off.

E.J. I just finished the first half of the quarry and I love it. You are outstanding at creating a place, terror markers and then dropping us, like your protagonists, into very deep water. Can't wait to continue and tell you about the rest. Thank you.

Great story, not just one of terror but also betrayal of the one place Aubrey loved. Really well done. I could feel the water wrapping around sucking me down

Cold silent indifference to the fate of mere humans - and that's just the platform we publish on. The terrifying non-monster at the heart of this tale is another chilling triumph of yours, EJ.

Hi. I finished "Quarries Are Super Deep," and I loved every bit of it. The way you built, and maintaned, suspense and questions till almost the very end was incredible. One question I have is didn't either of Aubrey or Paul think to see if there was a way out before they jumped in. Maybe there could have been, from their great distance, something that looked like it might be a way out. Just a suggestion for a super story.

YES! THIS! I WAS SHOUTING AT THEM "HOW ARE YOU GOING TO GET OUT" Like I shout at the TV...

those would have been smarter protagonists... the type of people who usually survive in horror stories
